The OĠNeill Studio is a project of Playwrights Theater of New York.
We are an independent professional Studio that has partnered with New York University and Yale University since 1998.
In its first decade, OĠNeillĠs plays have inspired new work by Yale student and alumni playwrights. Yale alumni actors and celebrated guest artists have performed the OĠNeill plays and the new work they inspired. These performances have take place at the NYU Provincetown Playhouse as part of our OĠNeill Festival, in which we have staged OĠNeillĠs first 17 works as part of a chronological series of his complete canon, 50 plays in all.

In its second decade, we will strengthen our emphasis on the art of acting OĠNeill.
Eugene OĠNeill is AmericaĠs only Nobel Prize-winning playwright and winner of four Pulitzer Prizes. He is our premier playwright. The OĠNeill Studio seeks to cultivate a vocabulary for the challenges of acting in his plays as put forth in The StudioĠs Artistic Statement).
These challenges will be the focus of The OĠNeill Forum for which Resident Artists will be engaged to perform excerpts from his works.
